There doesn't appear to be much need for MS Outlook in Vista. Windows Mail, Contacts, and Calendar seem to have most everything covered. I haven't come across a Journal yet, but have noticed mention of it in some Help screens. Does anyone know if there's something like that yet to be added? (I'm using 5308).
Another uber-simple thought. MS should put Calculator Plus rather than Calculator in this.
As to Paint... Well, it's just hard to believe that little app lives on ;-)

Simple Accessories stuff
Windows Mail provides basic functionality for common task such as managing e-mail, Calendar and Contacts are separate applications you have open and manage, the integration is not there which is available in Office Outlook, with features for connecting up to an Exchange Server, sharing calendards, colloborating, accessing a Global Contact list, and just having them in one integrated program.
The Windows Journal you refer to is for Tablet Users really, not the Journaling feature available in Outlook. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

I think that the Calculator Plus is a power tool for XP isn't it? If so, you may not see this in Vista or XP by default as "power tools" are not supported by Microsoft - they're just little programs that the developers wrote to make their lives easier.

I see Windows Mail as the new name for Outlook Express. I don;t think it supports profiles either, which can be very useful in Outlook when working with Exchange Server.

I was thinking more along the lines of Calculator Plus from download.microsoft.com. It has a Vista-aish look-and-feel to it and does conversions (feet/meters, currency) and stuff.
